DIRECT VISION STANDARDS THE FUTURE OF ROAD SAFETY

From October 28th, 2024, Direct Vision Standards requirements in London are changing. Backwatch is here to support you and your fleet through this transition.

To meet the new standards, HGVs must be rated at least 3 stars or MUST have Progressive safe systems fitted.

To ensure compliance with these important changes, it’s imperative that all operators irrespective the vehicle’s star rating, submit a new permit application. The registration window for progressive safe systems opens in June 2024, so don’t delay in taking action to avoid any operational disruptions.

Non-compliance with the new regulations carries significant consequences. Failure to possess a valid permit by the specified date could result in penalty charges of up to £550.00. However, prompt payment within 14 days could reduce this amount to £275.00. We urge you to take action to avoid these financial penalties.

Your safety and compliance are our top priorities. Reach out to us if you have any questions or need assistance navigating through the permit application process.
